What this site is
OttawaServiceFinder.com is a free directory of local services, places and resources in the Ottawa region. It is made for people who live here or are planning to move here: newcomers, families, students, seniors, and anyone looking for a clinic, a school, a place to eat or a place to explore.
Where the listings come from
Directory listings are built from public data sets (for example Google Places exports) supplied to the site, plus a small number of hand-curated lists such as hospitals. They are grouped by category and by area so they are easier to browse. Names, addresses and phone numbers are shown as they appear in the source data.
What “unverified” means
Nobody from this site has visited or phoned the places listed. Hours, services, prices and even whether a business is still open can change. Always check the provider's own website or call ahead before you go. Nothing here is medical, legal or financial advice, and a listing is not a recommendation.
How areas work
Central, East, South and West are a simple way this site groups the region so you can browse what is near you. They are not official City of Ottawa ward or planning boundaries.
Languages
The site is available in English, French and Hindi. French and Hindi pages are draft translations that have not yet been professionally reviewed, and every translated page says so with a link back to English. Listing names and addresses stay in their original language.
Accessibility
The site is built to work with a keyboard, a screen reader and a phone: one heading structure per page, a skip link, visible focus outlines, large tap targets, strong colour contrast, text that can be resized, and reduced motion when your device asks for it. If something does not work for you, that is a bug worth fixing; a contact form is planned.
Photos
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash and Pexels under licences that allow reuse, plus a few images published by the places themselves. Every photo is listed with its author and licence on the Image credits page.
